PHL Embassy in Athens Participates in 5th LAASA International Food Festival

23 May 2017 ATHENS — The Philippine Embassy in Athens participated in the 5th International Food Festival of the Lady Ambassadors and Ambassadors’ Spouse Athens (LAASA), held on May 21 at the Moraitis School in Paleo Psychico, Athens, Greece where they sold Pancit Bihon, Lumpiang Gulay, Sago at Gulaman, Buko Pandan, and Guinataan. 

The proceeds were donated by LAASA to PNOE, a non-profit organization established in 1991 to support children and their families while the child is in Intensive Care and to establish Pediatric Intensive Care Units in State and University Hospitals in Greece, while unsold food were donated to BOROUME (www.boroume.gr), a non-profit charity organization collecting donated food and sharing it to people in need.

Greek dignitaries led by Mrs. Vlassia Pavlopoulou-Peltsemi, wife of Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and prominent members of the expatriate community and Greek society were among the guests during said event. 34 embassies participated in the food festival.

LAASA is an informal club that offers the opportunity to its members to meet each other at least once a month in order to promote friendship to share cultural and sport activities and to organize charity events in support of local causes.
