PH Dances Regale Brunei

30 May 2017 BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Batangueño cultural performing group Sining Kumintang ng Batangas regaled on May 21 more than 180 guests during the Philippine Embassy in Brunei’s celebration of National Heritage Month and launch of the commemoration of the 119th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
The Sining Kumintang ng Batangas performed repertoire of Philippine folk and ethnic dances which included the Singkil, Pandango sa Ilaw, Tinikling, and Fiesta Filipinas, among others.
During the celebration Philippine Ambassador Meynardo LB Montealegre highlighted the shared cultural heritage between the Philippine and Brunei Darussalam. He also talked about the recent signing of the Philippines-Brunei Agreement on Cultural Cooperation signed during his Majesty The Sultan’t State Visit to the Philippines on April 2016.
The Embassy, through the Sentro Rizal, continues to work with the National Commission on Cultural and the Arts and Philippine cultural performing groups in promoting Philippine culture, traditions and arts.
