PHL Embassy in Ankara Conducts Consular Mission, Engages in a Community Building Activity in Istanbul

05 June 2017 ISTANBUL — A team from the Philippine Embassy in Ankara conducts a consular mission and engaged in a community building activity in Istanbul, Turkey from May 27 to 29.

The team provided consular services to almost 200 Filipinos and processed 37 ePassport applications and 11 extensions, 16 SPA/acknowledgements, ten authentications, one certification, two reports of birth, one LCCM and one travel document. The team also received 78 applications for Embassy ID registrations of Filipinos in Turkey and released 48 ePassports, four voters’ IDs and 109 Embassy IDs. The team addressed various inquiries and one of the embassy’s officers solemnized a wedding.

They also attended The Search for Golden Woman 2017, Bongga ka Nay! A Post-Mother’s Day Presentation at the Grand Cevahir Hotel and Convention Center in Şişli, Istanbul.

The event was an opportunity to showcase the creativity of the Filipina contestants who performed traditional dances such as the Pamaypay along with other modern dances. The contestants also performed individual song and dance numbers, as well as skits that portray the lives of Filipinas working overseas during the talent show portion of the event.

The embassy representatives and the Filipino Community in Turkey’s (FCT) officers paid tribute and honored the mothers present, emphasizing their commitment, dedication and sacrifice as mothers working overseas to support their families in the Philippines.
