PHL Consulate General in Toronto Conducts Consular Outreach Activities in Neepawa and Winnipeg, Manitoba & Tour of HyLife Foods Plant in Neepawa

06 June 2017 TORONTO - The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto conducted separate consular outreach activities in Neepawa and Winnipeg Cities on May 26 to 27 and May 27 to 29, respectively, in the province of Manitoba.
A total of 779 consular services were rendered during the 4-day period, including the processing of 578 passport applications and 122 notarial services. The VRM operator also registered 365 new overseas absentee voters.
Consul General Rose Prospero, accompanied by Consul Edwin Gil Mendoza, POLO Administrative Assistant Ethel Magtibay, SSS Representative Roberto Roldan and Pag-Ibig Member Elizabeth Borres, also visited the HyLife Foods (HyLife) Pork Processing Plant in Neepawa, Manitoba. They were informed that about 800, out of the 1,200 employees, were of Filipino descent. Most of these Filipino workers also brought along their families to Neepawa. The group was also given a tour of the facilities of Hylife. END.
