National Historical Commission of the Philippines and Spanish National Research Council Conduct Academic Conference on the Philippines in the 19th Century

08 June 2017 MADRID - The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) jointly conducted a two-day conference entitled, “Modernization of the Philippines in the 19th Century” at the CSIC Institute of History from June 01 to 02.
The conference was divided into the following topics: Modernization Policy, Education, Economy and Urbanization, Infrastructure and Resource Management and Health and Medicine.
The conference was conducted under an Agreement on Academic Collaboration between NHCP and CSIC. It was also in line with the celebration of the 15th Philippine-Spain Friendship Day and the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Spain. END
