18 November 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane participated in the ASEAN-Japan Festival Bazaar held last Saturday, November 09, at the parking space of the National Cultural Hall in Vientiane, Laos to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the founding of ASEAN and Japan cooperation.

The event, organized by the Japanese Embassy in Laos  featured several exhibition booths set up by different embassies, local businesses, Japanese companies and international organizations.  It was a venue for the Embassies in Vientiane including the Embassies of Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam to showcase their culture and products.  The event was also aimed at raising more awareness about ASEAN among the public.

The Philippine booth showcased some of the Philippines’ finest products like home décor items (soft furnishings), bags, pearl jewelry, and fashion accessories.  Phanpasert Food Supplies was also invited to sell Philippine products during the event. Phanpasert Food Supplies which imports many foodstuff and beverages to Laos from the Philippines enjoyed brisk sales during the bazaar. The company sold Philippine food and beauty products particularly papaya soap which is popular among Lao women. 

The Embassy also took the opportunity to display at the event the Philippine Department of Tourism’s It’s More Fun in the Philippines banners. END
