PHL Consulate General Joins Philippine Business Council Dubai in Entrepreneurial Networking Forum
23 May 2017 DUBAI — The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai participated in the Philippine Business Council (PBC) Dubai’s SoBiz, a networking event for Filipino entrepreneurs in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The event is one of PBC Dubai’s new activities as part of an invigorated business program for the Filipino Community.
Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes delivered the Keynote Address and stressed that the Consulate in partnership with PBC Dubai is undertaking a very pro-active and aggressive campaign to promote and nurture the Filipino entrepreneurial spirit. He stressed the importance of such forums, adding that networking events such as this allows Filipinos to link and bridge their interests with each other, hoping to create economic opportunities that would benefit not only the Filipino community but the rest of UAE’s multi-ethnic society.
The Consulate General and PBC collaborated in holding an Investment Forum with PEZA Director General Charito Plaza early this year. PCG and PBC have also been partners with the Ateneo School of Government’s 7-month Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Diploma Program.
The PBC is the only accredited Filipino organization by the Dubai Government and is operating under sponsorship of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. END
