PHL Ambassador to Canada Assumes Chairmanship of ASEAN Committee in Ottawa

27 June 2017 OTTAWA, CANADA —  Philippine Ambassador to Ottawa, Petronila P. Garcia has assumed the Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO) from July to December this year. The Ambassador of Myanmar Kyaw Myo Htut turned over the chairmanship to the Philippines during the 252^nd ACO Meeting on June 22 in Ottawa. 

This year marks several milestones as ASEAN celebrates its 50^th Anniversary since its establishment, and ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relations marks its 40^th year. The Philippines, which is the current Chair of ASEAN, is Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relations.
