PHL Consulate General in Agana, Laguna Association of Guam Celebrate 156th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal
The new bust of Dr. Jose Rizal was unveiled on June 19 in celebration of the 156th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal. The creation of sculptor Frederic I. 29 June 2017 AGANA — The Philippine Consulate General in Agana and the Laguna Association of Guam (LAG) celebrated the 156th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal on June 19 with the unveiling of the new Dr. Jose Rizal bust donated by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) installed on the grounds of the newly-constructed Official Residence of the Consul General of the Philippines, 119 Julie Court, Jonestown, Tamuning, Guam.
The program started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Consul General Marciano R. de Borja and LAG’s President, Mr. Angel Baldemor led the unveiling ceremony followed by the traditional wreath offering.
Also part of the program was the donation of two artworks created by Mrs. Mila Moguel, Principal of Eskwelahang Munti ng Guam (EMG) as token of appreciation for the Philippine Consulate’s hosting of EMG.
