Senate President Koko Pimentel Visits Fujian Province

30 June 2017 XIAMEN — Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel recently met with Xiamen City Senior Officials during his recent return trip to Xiamen. The senator and other members of the Philippine delegation were hosted by the CPC Xiamen Municipal committee led by Mr. Pei Jinjiang.
Mr. Pei briefed the Philippine delegation about Xiamen’s achievements and ongoing development projects.
Senator Pimentel said that Xiamen provides a model for urban development to its Philippine counterparts. He extended an invitation for Mr. Pei and CPC members to visit the Philippines soon.
Philippine Consul General in Xiamen Julius Caesar Flores highlighted Fujian as the origin of the majority of overseas Chinese in the Philippines and where tea culture developed and thrived.
