Consul General Cruz Joins Celebration of 45^th Anniversary of the Los Chabacanos of Cavite City, Inc. in San Diego

04 July 2017, LOS ANGELES - Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz attended the 45^th Anniversary celebration of Los Chabacanos of Cavite City, Inc. last July 01 in San Diego. The Consul General Cruz encouraged the former Filipino citizens in the audience to re-acquire Filipino citizenship, highlighted the upcoming 11^th Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Director Tour (ACGTDT) that will take place from July 10 to 16 and mentioned the signing of the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2015, which awarded 260,000 Filipino and Filipino-American World War II veterans a collective Congressional Gold Medal. He lauded the passage of the law and encouraged Filipinos in San Diego to honor our WW II veterans through the ongoing fund-raising to purchase bronze replicas of the Congressional Gold Medal, the United States’ highest civilian honor, to be given to surviving Filipino-American veterans of World War II and family members.
