Filipino Community in Oslo Celebrates 119th Phl Independence Day
05 July 2017 OSLO — The Filipino Community in Norway hosted the Fiesta Filipino to celebrate Philippine Independence Day at Youngstorget, a major plaza in the city center of Oslo, Norway. Filipino communities from outside Oslo, namely, Igorot Norway, Bayanihan Greenland, and Jesus is Lord (JIL) Norway Chapter joined the celebration.
The Philippine Embassy personnel led the parade participated in by the events’ major sponsors, and the singing of the Philippine national anthem. Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. Maria Elena P. Algabre delivered the Independence Day Message of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Modern and classical Filipino songs and dances were also presented.
