Philippine Food Festival Launched in Lulu Hypermarket in Abu Dhabi

05 July 2017 – Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. inaugurated the week-long Philippine Food Festival on June 29 at the Lulu Hypermarket, Khalidiyah Mall, Abu Dhabi.  The annual food festival, now on its eighth edition in the UAE, is organized by the Lulu Group International in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The Ambassador, joined by Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, Bayanihan Council officers and Embassy personnel, toured the hypermarket which showcased various Filipino food products, delicacies, cooked meals, and fresh fruits.  Ready-to-eat food products by La Comida Express Gourmet, owned by Abu Dhabi-based Filipino entrepreneur Jovy Tuaño, are being sold in the hypermarket and in other Lulu Hypermarkets as well across the UAE.

In his remarks, Ambassador Vingno expressed his deep gratitude to Lulu Group International headed by Managing Director Yusuff Ali M.A., and to the management of Khalidiyah Mall, for making the event possible. “The Filipinos, in general, have already established a presence here in the UAE. The Lulu Group has always been there for the Filipino community and we are very thankful for the continued collaboration with Lulu Group all these years,” he said. END
