19 November 2013 – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh recently conducted its 15th Embassy on Wheels (EOW) consular outreach this year in Al Khobar, providing a total of 557 consular services to Filipinos there.
The six-member Embassy team was led by Consul-General Marshall Louis Alferez. The mission, which was held from November 15 to 16, processed 438 passport applications, 51 passport extensions, eigh “lost passport” services, and 20 birth registrations. A total of 938 new passports were also released.
In addition, the outreach mission extended 12 passports of natives of typhoon Yolanda-affected provinces to enable them to travel immediately back to the Philippines to aid their distressed relatives.
The team was augmented by four passport encoders from the Filipino community in the Eastern Region.
Consul General Alferez expressed appreciation to the Filipino community in the Eastern Region, especially the pool of volunteers, who have continued to help make the Embassy’s consular missions successful. He also reminded the community that the Embassy will have a 10-day passport service in Al Khobar for those who have been unable to obtain passport appointments this year. The service will run from December 8 to 12 and 15 to 19 at the Gulf Center Building, Al Khobar, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
As part of the Embassy’s program to improve its services, the outreach team distributed client feedback forms, which yielded positive results.
The “Embassy on Wheels” will again be in Al Khobar from November 29 to 30, particularly at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam to extend various consular services. END
