PHL Embassy in Beirut Donates Philippine Cultural Books to Monnot Library, Beirut

06 July 2017 BEIRUT — The Philippine Embassy in Beirut, headed by Chargé d’affaires,a.i. Enrik Fort Revillas,  together with Third Secretary and Vice Consul Grace Perpetua and Information Officer Loremie Bautista, donated tourism and cultural books to the Municipal Library of Beirut in Monnot on July 05.

The team met with ASSABIL Former Chairperson and co-founder Mr. Antoine Boulad and Ms. Clarisse Chebli, Head Librarian. ASSABIL is a non-governmental organization which aims to promote reading through establishment and promotion of public libraries in Lebanon that are free and open to all.

The Monot Library is the third municipal public library in Beirut that offers cozy reading and working spaces for children and adults, in addition to internet access and a wide collection of material with a special focus on the arts. 

Future collaboration and joint cultural activities were also discussed during the meeting. Both parties expressed positive outlook and are planning to hold another meeting to further discuss the details.
