Filipinos Celebrate Pista sa Paris

28 July 2017 PARIS — Filipinos in Paris, France celebrated the Pista sa Paris on July 1 and 2 at Stade de la Muette. The annual Philippine Independence Day celebration was organized by the Embassy in cooperation with the Comite General Des Associations Philippines en France.
Over 3,000 Filipinos representing religious and regional organizations based in Paris participated in this year’s Pista. Filipino organizations from other parts of France and Europe, as well as the locals, also attended to show their support to the Filipino Community, watched the cultural performances and partook of the Filipino cuisine.
Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel II who was in Paris for an official visit organized by the French Senate was this year’s Guest of Honor. In his speech, Senator Pimentel informed them of the efforts of the Duterte Administration to develop the country and how the government gives importance to Filipinos living and working abroad.
