PH Appoints First Honorary Consul in Colorado

07 August 2017 SAN FRANCISCO — The Consulate General of the Philippines in San Francisco is pleased to announce the appointment of the Philippines’ first Honorary Consul for the State of Colorado and parts of Wyoming, Ms. Donna LaVigne.
Ms. LaVigne has a distinguished record of social engagement especially with the Filipino Community. For many years, she served in the National Federation of Filipino Americans Associations (NaFAA) representing the Mountain States Region. She is also a founding member of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce of Colorado and co-founder of Mending Faces and a former officer of Uplift International, both active medical mission groups. She has also led fundraising efforts for various causes in the Philippines, including one for Typhoon Yolanda victims.
The appointment of Ms. LaVigne as Consul, ad honorem supports the Philippine Consulate General’s thrust to Spark, Connect, and Empower the Filipino Community in Colorado and its surrounding areas. As Honorary Consul, she will facilitate accessible consular and assistance-to-nationals service to Filipinos, invigorate Filipino cultural and community activities through collaboration, and promote the Philippines’ trade, investment, and tourism initiatives.
The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco shall announce at a later date when the Honorary Consulate office will open to the public, and the services it will offer.
