Philippine National Artist BenCab Holds Meet-and-Greet in Toronto

08 August 2017 TORONTO — Philippine National Artist for Visual Arts, Benedicto Reyes Cabrera, popularly known as Bencab, was the Guest of Honor at a Meet and Greet event jointly organized by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association-Toronto Chapter (UPAA) and the Philippine Artists Group (PAG) of Canada on August 02 at the Miller Tavern in Toronto.

Philippine Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Petronila Garcia and Consul General Rosalita S. Prospero led the Filipino community in welcoming BenCab.  As a token of appreciation for the warm welcome given him, BenCab presented an autographed copy of a book entitled “Tabayag: Lime Containers of the Cordilleras (from the Collection of BenCab)” to Ambassador Garcia. The Philippine Artists Group of Canada, on the other hand, presented him with a plaque of recognition and an honorary membership to PAG.
