PHL Consulate General in Manado Conducts Training/ Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

16 August 2017 – The Philippine Consulate General in Manado, in collaboration with the Directorate of Security of Vital Objects (Pam Obvit), Regional Mobile Brigade Unit (BRIMOB) and Regional Disaster Mitigation Office of North Sulawesi, conducted a training and workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management on 12 August 2017 at the Consulate General.
The Resource Speakers provided useful information and presentation on how to address situations during terrorist attacks, bombings, earthquake, tsunami, floods, and other natural disasters. The participants were also shown a documentary on the 2014 flashflood in Manado, North Sulawesi and the 2002 bombings in Bali, Indonesia.
In his closing remarks, Consul General Oscar G. Orcine thanked the resource speakers and guests who participated in the training workshop, and emphasized how important the training was to the participants to be well-prepared during emergency situations.
