22 August 2017 TEL-AVIV — The Philippine Embassy in Israel dispatched an outreach team to Haifa on August 12 in close coordination with the Filipino Workers’ Association (FWA) in Haifa, serving over 100 clients during the half-day outreach, processing 45 passport applications and 18 notarial documents and 96 applications for Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership. Over 50 applicants collected their new passports and voter’s IDs.
During their outreach to Haifa, the team took the opportunity to conduct a Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) for close to 150 Filipino workers, in coordination with the Israeli OFW Association (IOA). Labor Attaché Rodolfo Gabasan briefed attendees on their basic rights and obligations as workers in Israel, while Consul Reichel Quiñones provided an overview of consular services provided by the Embassy. Welfare Officer Cornelia Chanco closed the seminar with a comprehensive briefing on the various programs and services that overseas Filipino workers could avail themselves of as members of OWWA.
