CNMI Bishop Jimenez Calls on Phl Consul General, Takes Oath as Dual Citizen

29 August 2017 AGANA — Most Reverend Bishop Ryan P. Jimenez, Bishop of Chalan Kanoa in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), called on Philippine Consul General Marciano R. de Borja on August 17 at the Philippine Consulate General to share and exchange information on the situation and conditions of Filipinos in the CNMI.  Bishop Jimenez also took his oath of allegiance as a dual citizen under Republic Act 9225 or Philippine Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Law of 2003 (RA 9225).  Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian administered his oath. Bishop Jimenez is the first Filipino to be appointed Bishop of Chalan Kanoa in Saipan, CNMI on August 14.
