Filcom Organization “Puso” Donates Airline Tickets for Distressed Kababayans in Shelter

30 August 2017 BEIRUT – Two distressed OFWs who have been sheltered at the Embassy’s Migrant Workers and other Filipinos Resource Center (MWOFRC) received a timely gift from their kababayans after officers of the Philippine United Sports Organization (PUSO) donated one-way airline tickets to the Philippines on August 27 for two beneficiaries who will be repatriated on August 31.

PUSO, a group of six Filipino community organizations organized a women’s volleyball tournament and pledged to utilize part of the proceeds to help wards at the MWOFRC.

Filipino community organizations, which number over 60, are an integral partner of the Embassy in upholding the interests of the country and the Filipino people in Lebanon, including through joint cultural promotion activities, crisis contingency planning and assistance to distressed nationals.
