31 August 2017 WALES, UK — The Baao Children and Youth Choir (BCYC) competed at the 70th Llangollen International Musical Eistedfodd held on July 05 to 06 in Llangollen, Wales, United Kindgom and won 3rd Place in both the Children Folk Song Category and the Senior Children's Choir Category.
The choral group was also featured in the special promotional video of the music festival by BBC Wales Channel, and invited for special presentations in various venues in Chester, England, and one in London, including a visit to the Embassy on 19 July 2017 with an impromptu performance.
BCYC, which is composed of pupils and students from different public and private schools of the Municipality of Baao, Camarines Sur, has been performing since 2004, consistently reaping awards and recognitions in various youth choir competitions, locally and globally, under the tutelage and musical direction of conductor, Mr. Herminio B. Briones.
