Filipino Artist Manuel Baldemor Holds Art Workshop for Children in Jakarta
Mr. Manuel D. Baldemor guides workshop participants on coloring techniques. The Baldemor sketches featured Philippine and Indonesian scenes thereby giving the children a glimpse of their heritage and cultural backgrounds.
06 September 2017 JAKARTA — Filipino artist Manuel D. Baldemor conducted an Art Workshop for Children at the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta as part of the Sentro Rizal program of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
The art workshop, along with the ongoing painting exhibition, “Philippine & Indonesia Symphony of Colors Vital Links in ASEAN, A Manuel Baldemor Painting Exhibit,” was attended by 25 Filipino children together with their parents.
The Embassy and Filipino community were so delighted to have Artist Baldemor on the occasion. Artist Baldemor generously shared his coloring techniques to the children as well as their parents who not only were inspired work alongside their children but also learned about their Filipino heritage and recognized everyday sceneries of Jakarta through colorful works of the artist. The session turned out to be not just a learning experienced but a special bonding activity for children and parents alike.
The Philippine Embassy together with the Filipino community in Jakarta are grateful for the artist, Manuel D. Baldemor, for making this possible. The artist, on his part, welcomed the opportunity to work with the children from whom he also admitted, he was also able to learn new things.
