14 September 2017 PRETORIA – Philippine Ambassador Joseph Gerard B. Angeles led the Philippine Embassy team’s consular outreach to Botswana from September 7 to 10.

In a get-together organized by the Filipino Association in Botswana, which coincides with the swearing-in ceremony for the newly-elected officers of the organization, Ambassador Angeles had the opportunity to touch-base with members of the Filipino community in Botswana, alongside with Philippine Honorary Consul to Gaborone Remegio Borello.

Ambassador Angeles provided the community with updates on current events in the Philippines. As well, noting the challenges presented by being away from home, Ambassador Angeles encouraged everyone to look out after each other and to continue with the camaraderie and bayanihan spirit which the Filipinos are known for. He also assured the community that the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, in cooperation with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Gaborone, stands ready to assist Filipinos with their concerns and in times of distress.

To round up the consular visit in Botswana, the Embassy team also offered consular services. END
