DesignPHILIPPINES returns to French furniture fair Maison et Objet

14 September 2017 PARIS – Eight Filipino designers of home furnishings and fashion accessories, under the banner DesignPHILIPPINES, participated in this year’s September edition of Maison et Objet from September 08 to 12 in Paris Nord Villepinte.

Located in the prestigious Hall 7 of Maison et Objet, DesignPHILIPPINES occupies a 100 m2 space featuring eight Filipino brands: fashion accessories made of the agsam fern from Agsam, cuffs and clutch bags  made through a meticulous method of yarns laid out row by row from Beatriz, chandeliers made of coconut shell from Catalina Embroideries, architecture-inspired bags and accessories made of 24-carat gold from Megabijoux, jewelry made of gold, silver, and brass from Kitsilver, handwoven abaca carpets and rugs from Weave Manila, wood- and stone-based furnishings from Finali and furnishings using sustainable innovative materials from Nature’s Legacy.  

Philippine Ambassador to France, H.E. Ma. Theresa Lazaro, visited the Philippine pavilion to congratulate each of the designers for their participation.

Mr. Jinggoy Buensuceso, a young Filipino sculptor and artist won in the Maison et Objet “Rising Talents Awards Asia 2017” last September 08 and is one of six awardees this year.

DesignPHILIPPINES’ participation in Maison et Objet was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Paris.
