Pinoy Fiesta Opens at Lulu Hypermarket

19 September 2017 MANAMA – Lulu Hypermarkets opened the Pinoy Fiesta weekend at its branch in Juffair Mall, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain on September 13.  Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver, led the ribbon cutting ceremony during the launch of the three-day event that features products, particularly fresh fruits and vegetables flown in directly from the Philippines. Regional Manager of Lulu Hypermarkets, Mr. Mohamed Kaleem Ulla, as well as other officials of the company and its Filipino personnel, led by Mr. Vergel Santos Flores, Fresh Foods Manager, were also present during the event.

The Pinoy Fiesta features the world famous Philippine mangoes and bananas, other well-loved fruits such as singkamas (hicama) and guyabano (sour sop), and vegetables such as mustasa (mustard), sampaloc (tamarind), and kalabasa (pumpkin) leaves, which are staple ingredients of classic Filipino dishes. Other Philippine products featured during the Fiesta were condiments, noodles, snack items, and cooked Filipino food such as chicken empanada, laing (dried gabi leaves with coconut milk), adobong pusit, lumpiang shanghai, and Philippine delicacies like turon, puto, kutsinta, as well as desserts including buko pandan, Pinoy-style macaroni salad and buko (coconut) salad.  Lulu also offered a 25% discount (with minimum purchase of 3BD) for all Philippine products bought from the said branch for the duration of the three-day sale.
