20 September 2017 TEL AVIV -- The Association of Bicolanos in Israel (ABI) held a Traslacion of the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, a replica from the Shrine in Naga, Camarines Sur. More than a hundred Bicolanos and faithful devotees of Our Lady of Peñafrancia joined the Holy Mass at the Woman of Valor Church in Tel Aviv before proceeding to the fluvial parade on the Hayarkon River. Philippine Ambassador Neal Imperial, whose family hails from Bicolandia, together with other Embassy personnel, joined the more than 100 OFWs in prayer amid shouts of “Viva La Virgen” and “Viva El Divino Rostro” as the boats traversed Tel Aviv’s famous river.
The main boat carrying the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia led six other smaller boats during the one-hour fluvial parade along Hayarkon River, fronting the Philippine Embassy. The boat was beautifully decorated with roses and balloons in yellow and white, signifying the colors of the Virgin Mother.
The annual event is held every 3rd Saturday of September to commemorate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. END
