Filipino Designers Participate in Lao Fashion Week 2017

Philippine Ambassador to Vientiane Belinda Ante welcomes Filipino designers at the Philippine Embassy, Vientiane

 

22 September 2017 VIENTIANE -   The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane supported the participation of Filipino designers in the recently-held 4th Lao Fashion Week on September 11 to 15 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Vientiane, Laos. The event, which had the theme “Fashion for a Good Cause,” included nightly fashion shows which showcased the designers’ special collections, as well as workshops on various subjects related to fashion and design.

Forty-five international and local fashion designers participated in the event, which aimed to develop the fashion industry of Laos, highlight the talents of local and regional designers, and create awareness and opportunities for close collaboration between Lao and ASEAN fashion communities.

Mr. Julius Tarog, owner of the JT clothing line which incorporates Inabel fabrics from Abra province, and Mr. Reynier Necesario Abello, a Phnom Penh-based Filipino designer who owns the Armada clothing line, presented their Fall-Winter 2018 RTW Collection and street wear line Spring-Summer 2018 Ready-to-Wear (RTW) Collection during the opening night on September 12.

Arin Fall-Winter 2018 RTW collection of Mr. Renan Pacson, MEGA Young Designer 2012 winner and the CHED Studio Spring-Summer 2018 Collection of Mr. Christian Edward Dalogaog was showcased the following nights.

 Mr. Albert Andrada, owner of the Albert Andrada clothing line and designer for Hollywood celebrities and Miss Universe Beauty Pageant contestants (including Miss Universe 2015 Ms. Pia Wurtzbach), presented his Spring-Summer 2018 Couture during the finale of Lao Fashion Week on 15 September 2017.
