Philippines Participate in the UN Workshop on Cybersecurity Norms

26 September 2017 SINGAPORE - In conjunction with the Singapore International Cyber Week 2017, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) and Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) with support from the Government of Germany, Netherlands and Singapore organized a workshop entitled “Preserving and Enhancing International Cyber Stability: Regional Realities and Approaches. “The event was held on September 20 to 21 at Suntec Convention Center in Singapore. A delegation from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and National Security Council (NSC) took part in the two-day seminar.

The workshop dealt with the 2017 UN Group of Governmental Experts (GGE) and the outstanding issues on cybersecurity for international agreement. The Philippines advocacy, through DICT is to raise awareness on cybersecurity issues and its impact on the public and private sectors. END
