PHL Delegation to ASEAN Para Games Visits the Embassy
27 September 2017 KUALA LUMPUR - The Philippine delegation to the 9th ASEAN Paralympic Games (Para Games) led by Philippine Paralympic Committee President Michael Barredo (fourth from left) paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Charles C. Jose (fifth from right) on September 19 at the Embassy.
A 164-strong Philippine delegation is in Kuala Lumpur for the Para Games, to compete in sports such as athletics, badminton, boccia, chess, cycling, goal ball, powerlifting, table tennis, swimming, tenpin bowling and wheelchair basketball.
That day, Ambassador Jose also watched the Philippine differently-abled athletes competing in table tennis and wheelchair basketball matches at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The MITEC hosts most of the Para Games events, along with the Bukit Jalil Sports Complex.
The 9th ASEAN Para Games is ongoing from September 17 to 23.
