The Philippines’ world renowned pianist, Dr Raul Sunico, performs at the Palazzina Liberty in Milan

29 September 2017 MILAN - Filipino musical artist, Dr Raul Sunico, regaled a Milanese audience at the Palazzina Liberty di Milano in Parco Largo Marinai d'Italia, Milan on September 24, with his renditions of the works of Ottorino Respighi, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi, George Gershwin and Francisco Buencamino.

Produced in cooperation with Associazione SODALIS, the evening concert was attended by a mix of approximately 150 Italians and Filipinos.

Dr Sunico’s concert in Milan forms part of a series of events marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Italy.

Raul M. Sunico graduated from the University of the Philippines with the degrees of Bachelor of Music (cum laude), Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and Master of Statistics. He obtained his Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in New York and a Doctor of Philosophy degree, major in Piano Performance from the New York University. He was recently conferred the Commendatore Award (Order of the Star of Italy) by the President of the Republic of Italy. END
