Feast of Our Lady of Penafrancia Celebrated in New Jersey
An image of Our Lady of Penafrancia which visited and rotated among the Filipino-Community organization of the Bicol region during the 9-day Novena.
02 October 2017 - The Philippine Consulate General in New York attended the 28th Annual Grand Fiesta celebration of the Feast of the Nuestra Senora de Peṅafrancia co- organized by the Our Lady of Penafrancia Devotees Association Inc. and the Bicolandia Association Inc. of the Eastern Seaboard on 16 September 16 at the Stephen R. Gregg Park, Bayonne, New Jersey.
The event was attended by around 300 devotees and members of the Filipino community in the tri-state area. The celebration, a culmination of a nine-day Novena, was marked with a mass and a procession of the image of Our Lady of Penafrancia. Following the mass was a salu-salo among the devotees and members of the Filipino community which participated in the Novena including kababayans from Catanduanes, Naga, Albay, Masbate, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, and Sorsogon.
