PHL Ambassador Visits Headquarters of Top Military Vehicle Manufacturer NIMR
11 October 2017 ABU DHABI – Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., met with H.E. Dr. Fahad Saif Harhara Al Yafei, CEO of NIMR Automotive LLC; Fahad Mohamed Al Absi, NIMR Commercial Director; Oliver Cribben-Pearse, NIMR International Sales Manager; and Mohamed Salem Al Eghfeli, NIMR Area Sales Manager for UAE, at NIMR headquarters and manufacturing facility in Al Ajban, Abu Dhabi on October 01.
The meeting included a visual and actual presentation of the company’s background and its top-of-the-line 4x4 and 6x6 military vehicles in armoured and non-armoured configurations, including an exclusive tour of its 37,500 square meters manufacturing facilities.
NIMR Automotive, established in 2000, is a military vehicle manufacturer owned by the United Arab Emirates government. The company is a subsidiary of the UAE government’s holding company Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC).
NIMR has three classes of vehicles, namely, Ajban Class, Hafeet Class and JAIS Class.
NIMR is the 5th largest military vehicle producer in the world. It employs more than 850 personnel, composed of 28 nationalities, who do the conceptualization, designs, prototyping, engineering, structuring and assembly, vehicle integration, systems integration, testing, and quality control. The company also offers customer specific designed support packages, training, maintenance and repair. H.E. Al Yafei informed the undersigned that NIMR currently employs 253 Filipinos or two-thirds of its workforce.
