11 October 2017 CAIRO – The Philippine Embassy in Egypt, in cooperation with the Filipino community, showcased the country’s culture to the Egyptian public at the 2nd Embassy Fair hosted by the Pharaonic Village in Cairo on October 06.

Filipino performers delighted attendees with Mindanao and Ifugao ethnic dances and a demonstration of the Philippine martial art “arnis,” while the Philippine booth displayed the country’s local products, tourism destinations, and traditional costumes.

The Pharaonic Village was founded by Dr. Hassan Ragab, known for rediscovering the Egyptian art of papyrus-making. The village was inaugurated in May 1984 and serves as Egypt’s historical park, with floating amphitheaters, museums, and an art center. END
