19 October 2017 SINGAPORE - UP Associate Professor Dr. Jay L. Batongbacal, representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Philippine Embassy in Singapore participated in the regional workshop on Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas (PSSAs) in Southeast Asia: Trends and Prospects. The two-day workshop organized by the National University of Singapore-Center for International Law was held at Furama Riverfront Singapore on October 11 to 12.
Dr. Batongbacal was one of the distinguished speakers and gave a talk on the recently successful PSSA application of Tubbataha Reef in the Philippines. The Tubbataha Reef located in the Sulu Sea was the first in Southeast Asia to acquire such a designation this year. END
