20 October 2017 PARIS – ASEAN Secretary-General, His Excellency Le Luong Minh, led the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN in Paris on October 16 through a business forum at the headquarters of MEDEF, the largest federation of French entrepreneurs with over 750,000 member companies.

Over 100 French business leaders attended the half-day conference at the “House of French business” where economic opportunities in ASEAN were discussed, especially in light of the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community almost two years ago. Testimonials on doing business with ASEAN were made by several French CEOs present in the forum.

Over 11,000 French companies do business with ASEAN while 2,000 companies have a physical presence in the region. Total trade between France and ASEAN stood at US$ 28 billion in 2016, up by 8% since 2015. END
