PHL Consul General Attends Commemoration of 73rd Anniversary of Leyte Landing with Fil-Am WW II Veterans

23 October 2017 LOS ANGELES – Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz attended the 73rd Anniversary of the Leyte Landing with the Filipino-American World War II Veterans at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall in downtown Los Angeles on October 17.

The meeting was organized by Filipino Veterans Foundation (FVF) Executive Director Dr. Jenny Batongmalaque. Dr. Batongmalaque announced that the FVF in commemorating the Leyte Landing with their 5K Walk to be held on October 20 in the City of Carson.  

The Filipino Veterans Foundation (FVF) is a non-profit organization, founded under the auspices of the ERB Foundation, a registered 501-(c)(3) non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California, USA. The mission of the Filipino Veterans Foundation is to improve the quality of life of the disadvantaged veterans, promote health and wellness in the veterans’ community, and to honor and preserve their legacy and contributions. Since November 1, 2002, the Filipino Veterans Foundation began providing services at the Los Angeles County Bob Hope Patriotic Hall.

Consul General Cruz took the opportunity to update the status of awarding to surviving WW II veterans with replica World War II Congressional Gold Medals, the United States’ highest civilian honor. END
