Philippine Honorary Consulate in Venice Officially Opens

23 October 2017 MILAN - The office of the Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Venice officially launched its services on October 16 in the presence of Consul General Marichu Mauro and leaders of various Filipino community organizations in the Veneto region of Italy.

“I wish to become a reference for people who want to travel or work in the Philippines. I also intend as Honorary Consul to play a big role in helping the large and very appreciative Filipino community within Venice and the rest of the Veneto region,” said Honorary Consul and Venetian lawyer Giorgia de Biasi. The Honorary Consulate covers the Filipinos living in Venice, Mestre, Padova, Verona and Vicenza.

Consul General Mauro was very proud to present Ms. De Biasi to the community. “Atty. De Biasi will be an asset to our community here in the Veneto. I am very confident that she will make an excellent Honorary Consul given her record of helping our community and her enthusiasm to serve not only the Filipinos but the Philippines as well by promoting it to her fellow Italians,” the Consul General said.
