26 October 2017 BRUSSELS – A total of 240 children from 15 Flemish schools eagerly participated in the tinikling workshop. The activity featured two young and exceptional Philippine folkdance dancers from the Filipino community, Alessi Castillo and Lanz Jara Rebong, together with the BCF members.

Now on its 12th edition of the annual outreach program, the Belga Cultura Filipina (BCF) vzw, in cooperation with Missio in Alle Kleuren (Mission in All Colors), conducted a whole day workshop in school campus of VIA Tienen, Belgium, teaching Belgian schoolchildren how to dance the popular Philippine folkdance, tinikling, over the weekend.

Missio in Alle Kleuren is an intercultural and interreligious project of the Diocese of Mechelen, offering different “Youth Day” activities throughout the year for schoolchildren across the Flemish Brabant, a province of Flanders.

The BCF is a non-profit organization established in 1998 by founder Mrs. Haydee Holliday. Its primary mission is to promote the rich cultural diversity of the Philippines and its people among local communities in Belgium.
