PHL Food and Drug Administration Officials Visit Pakistan

25 October 2017 ISLAMABAD — Philippine Food and Drug Administration officials called on Ambassador Daniel Ramos Espiritu on October 16 and 21.
Twelve officials from the FDA- Field Regulatory Operations Office are in Pakistan, together with the representatives of importing drug companies in the Philippines, to inspect drug manufacturers in Islamabad, Lahore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi in accordance with FDA A0 2013-0022 or the Guidelines for Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) Clearance and Inspection of Foreign Drug Manufacturers. Under said AO, drug importers shall be responsible in ensuring that the products brought to the Philippines are manufactured in accordance with the cGMP. It may be noted that Pakistan is one of the Philippines’ suppliers of pharmaceutical products.
During the call, Ambassador Espiritu also briefed the delegation on the current security situation in Pakistan, Philippines and Pakistan bilateral relations and the status of Pakistani pharmaceutical market and related regulatory standard and issues. END
