PHL Consul General Bids Farewell to Hong Kong Officials
Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla says goodbye to HK Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung Kin-chung during a call on 25 October 2017 at the Central Government Office in Tamar, Hong Kong.
30 October 2017 HONG KONG – Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong SAR Bernardita L. Catalla made farewell calls on her final week to Hong Kong government officials, led by Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Chief Secretary for Administration.
Ms. Catalla departed HK on October 29 to assume her post as PH Ambassador in Beirut. Lebanon.
During the call on October 25, Consul General Catalla thanked the Chief Secretary for the close cooperation and support extended to the Philippine Consulate during her posting of three years and four months, including Mr. Cheung’s stint as Labour and Welfare Secretary in the previous administration.
Mr. Cheung conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Consulate General’s invaluable support and cooperation to the Hong Kong government. He likewise made assurances that the government will maintain close coordination with the incoming consul general and consulate team, particularly on matters pertaining to the Filipinos in the Territory.
On October 27, Consul General Catalla also called on Ambassador Xie Feng, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the People’s Republic of China in Hong Kong.
Consul General Catalla also called on HK Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr. Edward Yau Tang-wah on October 27 and HK Secretary for Labour and Welfare Dr. Law Chi-kwong on October 24, respectively. END
