22 November 2013 - The Program for Senior Public Managers (PSPM) for the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), an initiative of the Government of the Philippines under the Initiatives for ASEAN Integration (IAI), officially opened last November 18 at the National University of Laos.
Lao Vice Minister of Education and Sports Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun, Philippine Ambassador to Lao PDR Maria Lumen B. Isleta and Vice President of National University of Laos (NUOL) Associate Professor, Dr. Phetsamone Khounsavath together with Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Professors Dr. Benjamin Bagadion and Dr. Soledad Hernando welcomed the 41 participants from different Lao ministries during the opening program of the PSPM.
Last May 17, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the PSPM for Lao PDR was signed between the AIM and Lao Ministry of Education and Sports in the Philippines. The prestigious and internationally-recognized AIM has been tasked to deliver the program.
The PSPM is designed to help in the capacity-building efforts of Lao PDR for its officials and to facilitate the transfer of expertise and materials to its institutions particularly to NUOL. The program will run for three consecutive weeks at NUOL. END
