PHL Embassy Donates Philippine Traditional Games to the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw

02 November 2017 WARSAW — The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw today donated three kinds of Philippine traditional games to the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw (Muzeum Azji I Pacyfiku w Warszawie) for its forthcoming “Exhibit of Traditional Games” to be held on 08 March 2018.

The donation consists of two pieces of sungka, five pieces of trumpo (spinning top) and seven sets of holen (marbles) (105 pieces). They were accepted by the Director of the Asia and Pacific Museum Dr. Joanna Wasilewska and the Head of Education Department - Mr. Tomasz Madej, from Philippine Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez and Cultural Attache Ms. Imelda de Joya

The Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw was established in 1973 by Mr. Andrzej Wawrzyniak’s who donated his collection of Asia Pacific “material culture” to the Polish State. Mr. Wawrzyniak served as the Museum’s Director from 1973 until 2013. END
