PHL Embassy Repatriates 23 Distressed Overseas Filipino Workers in Abu Dhabi

03 November 2017 ABU DHABI – Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno Jr. (center) met the 23 victims of human trafficking before their repatriation on October 19 at the Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Office, Philippine Embassy, Abu Dhabi. The Ambassador was joined by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Anna Marie Mae Guerra, Head of ATN; Mr. Ed Paraan, Ms. Myla Perez, Ms. Lalaine Bacha, and Mr. Ramil Aban, ATN Officers; Mr. Omar Tolba, Public Relation Officer/Translator and the twenty-three (23) distressed Overseas Filipino Workers in Abu Dhabi. The above-named OFWs are mostly tourist visa holders when they entered United Arab Emirates. They are victims of illegal recruiters or left the employ of their sponsors/agencies due to maltreatment, overworked, and non-payment of salaries. They arrived at Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport on October 20 at 11:15 a.m.
