06 November 2017 ABU DHABI — The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi repatriated one hundred one (101) distressed overseas Filipinos on October 31, the biggest batch since “mass repatriation” was conducted on May of this year.

The repatriates boarded the inaugural Philippine Airlines flight as it resumed its operations in Abu Dhabi. Philippine Ambassador to Abu Dhabi Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will join the repatriates in their flight back to Manila.

The Embassy has repatriated over 700 Filipino nationals, who are mostly human trafficking and illegal recruitment victims, this year. As the MOU on Labour Cooperation between the Philippines and the UAE, as well as the Law on Domestic Work were signed in September this year, the Embassy hopes that these incidents will be minimized with their full implementation.
