Philippine Ambassador Presents Credentials to Seychelles President

03 November 2017 NAIROBI — Ambassador Uriel Norman R. Garibay was received by President Danny Faure of the Republic of Seychelles at the State House where he presented his credentials on October 24.
At the solemn ceremony, Ambassador Garibay presented to President Danny Faure his Letter of Credence and the Letter of Recall of his predecessor, Ambassador Bayani V. Mangibin. Ambassador Garibay also conveyed the compliments of H.E. President Rodrigo R. Duterte to President Faure and to the people of Seychelles.
In response, President Faure also sent his warm greetings to President Duterte and the people of the Philippines and expressed confidence that the ties that bind Seychelles and the Philippines will be much stronger in the years to come.
Present during the ceremony were Ambassador Claude Morel, Foreign Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ian Madeleine, Director of Protocol and Mr. Alex Mancham, Philippine Desk Officer. Ambassador Garibay was accompanied by Mr. Jake E. Fernandez, Attaché, to server as his Protocol Officer.
During a short meeting after the ceremony, President Faure praised the Overseas Filipinos for their economic and cultural contributions in Seychelles. He also expressed his admiration for their seamless integration into Seychellois society.
At the luncheon hosted by Foreign Secretary Morel, Ambassador Garibay expressed his gratitude for the warm and hospitable reception and gave a toast to the continued friendly relations of the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Seychelles. END
