Filipino Association in Rogaland (F.A.R.) Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

06 November 2017 OSLO – The Philippine Embassy in Oslo joined the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Filipino Association in Rogaland (F.A.R.) in Stavanger, Norway. The Philippine Embassy was represented by Chargé d´Affaires, a.i. (CDA) Maria Elena Algabre, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Christiansen Cabahug, and Philippine Honorary Consul in Stavanger Renee Ikdal on October 28.

Established in 1987, F.A.R. aims to connect Filipinos in Rogaland, a county in Western Norway.  Aside from performances and presentations showing the various activities of F.A.R. in previous years, the night was highlighted by F.A.R.’s announcement that the ticket sales of the event will go to the Heart4Kids, a Stavanger-based volunteer organization which helps street children in Manila.

In her remarks, Stavanger Deputy Mayor Bjørg Tysdal, paid tribute to the contributions of the Filipino community who have not only made Stavanger their home, but have also contributed to making Stavanger a thriving city today. END
