DOLE Assessment Team Pays Courtesy Call at Philippine Consulate in Milan

16 November 2017 MILAN — A two-man team from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) headed by Director Warren Miclat paid a courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate General in Milan on November 09.

The team, which is conducting a routine assessment of Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLOs) and Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA) representative offices in Europe including in Milan, was warmly received by Consul General Marichu Mauro. The team was accompanied by Labor Attaché Atty. Corina Buñag and Welfare Officer Jocelyn Hapal. Consul Mersole J. Mellejor was also present to receive the delegation.

Consul General Mauro thanked the team for passing by Milan. She underscored the good teamwork that Milan PCG has with POLO/OWWA Milan and the latter’s active involvement in helping promote the rights and welfare of Filipino nationals in Milan and Northern Italy.

Consul General Mauro expressed her appreciation for the continued support that DOLE/OWWA is extending to their team in Milan. She indicated that this support is even more crucial as POLO/OWWA Milan embark on even bigger projects in support and collaboration with Milan PCG.

From Milan, the team will proceed to Rome to conduct a similar assessment of POLO/OWWA with jurisdiction in Southern Italy. END
