PHL National Team Competes in the 41st Southeast Asian Age Group Championships in Brunei Darussalam

22 November 2017 BRUNEI – The Philippine National Team, composed of 25 member-athletes, placed 6th with three gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals, during the recent 41st Southeast Asian Age Group (SEA AG) Championships held at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex pool in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei from November 10 to 12.
The 41st SEA AG Swimming Championships was officially opened by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awang Halbi Hj Mohammad Yussof on November 11. The tournament closed with a Gala Dinner hosted by the Brunei Darussalam Amateur Swimming Association (BASA) on November 12.
A total of 235 swimmers from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam competed at the championships.
This year’s SEA AG is one of the qualifying meets for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games that will be held in October 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. END
